Anyway, this last trip was perfect if for the fact alone that we had several quality beach outings.
Luke's initial introductions to the beach involved 2 things, eating sand and getting really messy... not that fun. As a busy 3 year old this trip was a stark difference. He was much more interactive and had the time of his life (while still getting messy).
He spent one evening as the sun was setting on Hermosa Beach chasing a couple hundred seagulls all over the shore. Luke would make some squealing sound while waving his arms and running into the midst of the birds. They would all take off, land some 30 yards away, and reassemble. It was at this point that the blond, fuzzy haired boy would launch his next attack. True to "Luke form" this process repeated itself again and again.
A few days later he and I were back at the beach walking down the shore when we saw a smaller group of seagulls. I said to him "Luke go catch a seagull!" he looked at me and said "Dada, I can't they fly too far." Hmmm I thought...
Lesson learned.
We kept walking and began picking up seashells and assorted rocks off the sand. Suddenly, Luke let out a gasp as he picked up a large fully entact seashell. He excitedly brought it over to me and said,
"Look dad! a seashell... It's for Momma... It's for Momma's bra!"
Thanks a lot Disney.

Laughed out loud several times (still can't bring myself to write "lol").
I'm glad I got to be part of one of those beach trips and can't wait for Hamilton to join the fun.
Classic Luke...I love it. Hopefully he got hot beach time as well.

john: I think someone spent too much time at the magic kingdom recently... I think five dollar churros make you crazy!
whitney: In part I wrote that blog just for you... I knew you woul enjoy every word. Is it above freezing up there yet?
I think little Luke is moving into a "whole new world."
The question is, are we ready?
You better be careful with those Disney flicks my friend.
I anxiously awaiting the second seashell to complete my outfit.
phillip- you better get ready!
marc- disney pornography is a rare and wonderful treat. the question is, is it an evil conspiring corporation or some bored animators doing it?
heidi-I think the one (or none) is just fine:)
Travis--I think we ought to contemplate the difference between public and private discourse. [I don't know how to put that funky smiley face in here except with a colon and a parenthesis :).]
I worry that, in this age of Spacebook and MyFace, the public/private discourse line has been blurred so dramatically that, to quote T. S. Eliot in "Prufrock," we're preoccupied with "prepar[ing] a face to meet the other faces that [we] meet"--except that we don't meet real faces, but photographs of real faces on-line.
cant wait to see that bra!
That's awesome! Luke is hilarious.
I doubt anyone who visits us has "monument guilt". Vacation in DC = take the Bohns on a death march through every memorial and museum in town. I'm so cultured by this point it's astounding.
You mentioned Luke has a frizz problem. You should get that boy a dinglehopper.
